Direct Billing

I am registered services provider and offer Direct Billing with most major insurers including:

Pacific Blue Cross Sunlife

Medavie Bluecross Manulife

Greenshield GroupHEALTH

Canada Life Claimsecure

ICBC Provider Network Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance

Direct billing means I bill on your behalf to your insurer so you are free from upfront costs for receiving counselling. For extended health benefit plans that do not cover counselling at 100% you are responsible for paying the co-pay to my clinic as part of a direct billing services agreement. This could include the deductible if not yet payed to your plan for a given service term.

If your insurer isn’t listed above, it’s still worth checking! I may be able to direct bill them through Telus eClaims.

Medavie Blue Cross covers counselling services for individuals with access to benefits under the following plans:

Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)

Extended Health Insurers

I provide detailed receipts for insurance reimbursement through your extended health benefits provider, for those with an insurance plan that does not accommodate direct billing. A quick check in with your benefits provider will tell you whether the services of an RCC are covered by your plan. Most plans in BC cover an amount of counselling with an RCC per year.

I send out receipts the same day as your payment is processed for quick access to reimbursement claims

3rd Party Coverage

I am a registered service provider with ICBC’s Provider Network. If you have an active ICBC claim you are eligible to receive services from an RCC, covered by ICBC. ICBC pays counsellors directly within the session limits set out in your ICBC treatment agreement - so you will incur no upfront costs to see an ICBC Provider Network Counsellor. If you would like more information on this process or how to get set up for ICBC covered sessions, I am happy to assist with this process. Please note if you do not yet have an active/approved treatment plan at the time you start counselling, session payment would occur outside of ICBC direct billing until you have an approved treatment plan - these can be retroactively applied for reimbursement from ICBC.

Please mention you are looking to receive services as part of an ICBC claim in your inquiry message/email, and/or during your consultation!

Student Extended Health Coverage Plans:

If you are a student, most public universities in BC include an amount of extended health coverage for services received by a Registered Clinical Counsellor

University of British Columbia students are eligible for counselling benefits through Pacific Blue Cross, for which I am a direct billing service provider.
